Ritual for the New Moon in Scorpio

Ritual For The New Moon In Scorpio

RituThe New Moon in Scorpio entering our awareness at 8:47 am EST has the inter-webs buzzing. A sign closely linked to death and this close to Halloween – it’s what nightmares are made of!

“Rebirth, rebirth,” Insta-astrologers chant. And, oh, how we cling to that promise of being born anew while forgetting the death that precedes it.

The often-overlooked first step of any ritual is clearing. We smudge the room, wipe down the altar, and remove anything distracting us from the intention at hand. Clearing things is easy work; clearing habits and beliefs is quite another.

Which is why we often keep trying to create new things on top of the old. It doesn’t work. For many years, I tried to ‘manifest’ a loving relationship but found myself with the same person, different body. Why? Because I had very strong beliefs that conflicted with what I was trying to create.

Ritual For The New Moon In Scorpio

To clear out the cobwebs, here’s a very simple ritual:

-Choose 1 to 3 things in your life you’d like to change (i.e. relationship, career, money).

-At the top of a sheet of paper write down one topic and write every belief you have about it underneath without editing.

-Do the same for each topic.

-Circle the most harmful beliefs you have about each topic.

-On a separate sheet of paper, write down the opposite of each harmful belief you’ve circled.

-Burn the paper with the harmful beliefs in a fire-safe way (a cauldron is a nice touch).

The Scorpio New Moon is a beautiful time to set new intentions. If you’d like to go further, try this:

-Choose one word that represents each of your new beliefs or intentions.

-With a butter knife carve them into a candle.

-Cover the candle in honey for sweetness.

-Over the honey, you may rub herbs or flower petals that align with your intention.

-Light the candle and watch it burn as you set your heart and mind on the new beliefs.

Trust that when the sun rises again, you’ll be born anew. Blessed be.
